Welcome to my blog!

My name is Nich and my goal here is to explore and question all things philosophical and scientific (which is to say all the things). Here’s what you can find on here. First, a random string of blog posts. These will be a collection of my thoughts on things. These posts will be thematically eclectic (i.e. random and rambling), but they will be loosely tied together by—you guessed it—science and philosophy. You will also find my longer writings and essays, both fiction and non-fiction. If you’re interested, you can find reviews for books I’ve eaten, or info on books I’m currently gnawing on. And lastly, to continue a tradition I established on my tumblr blog, I will attempt to answer and explore questions from readers. So, please feel free to send me a question if you’re curious about something or if you just want to see the inner-workings of the three pounds of electrified meat between my ears.

'The brilliant tapestry of young stars flaring to life resembles a glittering fireworks display in this Hubble Space Telescope image. The sparkling centerpiece of this fireworks show is a giant cluster of thousands of stars called Westerlund 2. The cluster resides in a raucous stellar breeding ground known as Gum 29, located 20,000 light-years away from Earth in the constellation Carina. Hubble's Wide Field Camera 3 pierced through the dusty veil shrouding the stellar nursery in near-infrared light, giving astronomers a clear view of the nebula and the dense concentration of stars in the central cluster.
